BIOGRAPHY

CHERYL SCOTT

I have been a tourist guide for 5 years. My guiding skills have been mostly as a freelance guiding as a preferred guide for the Arabella Sheraton Hotel. My very keen interest in viticulture and the wine industry has also lead to me being closely involved with the “Wine Desk” at both official tourism offices in Cape Town.

I have completed the Cape Wine Academy Certificate Wine Course and I have marketed a range of SA wines in Florida, USA where I lived for over 3 years. This re-kindled my interest in the wine routes in which I specialise.

Prior to guiding, I worked for Fuji Film & Olympus Cameras as a public relations officer, a position which involved a tremendous amount of travelling in the Cape area – up to wonderful places like Springbok, Port Elizabeth & Upington. This unique travel opportunity added to my knowledge and passion for the Cape as a whole.

I have travelled extensively throughout Europe, England and the USA. I recently visited Brazil and went on the Pacific Princess Cruise liner for 18 days from Brazil across the Atlantic to Senegal and down the West Coast of Africa.

My travels have also taken me on the Rovos Rail around SA and enjoyed the Rovos Air Safari to Botswana, Kariba, Zanzibar, Ngorogoro Crater, Zambia, Vic Falls and Zimbabwe.

I specialise in wine, wine and olives on our rugged West coast and food & wine pairings. All the beautiful things in life!

I will arrange anything that interests you in food and wine from my district and eagerly look forward to sharing this with you.
